Poland's flexible foam production has surged over the last ten years to around 100 kilotonnes per annum (ktpa) currently. Figures from Europur (the European association of flexible foam block makers) show its members in Poland reporting production of only 70.5 kt of polyether foam in 2008 - down considerably from the 94 kt reported in 2007. This contrasts with 2008 figures for Germany of 78.3 kt (80 kt, 2007) and for Italy of 82.5 kt (92.6 kt, 2007). So two years ago Poland had the largest foam production in Europe, But Europur's figures are limited to its members -and there are fears of under-reporting by some.
