The Trelleborg Group has used its cash assets to take on a new challenge, paying us794 million for the major precision seals business of Smiths Group plc-currently called Polymer Sealing Solutions. The move adds another third again, or us671 million, to Trelleborg's annual sales, and puts another 6000 employees on its payroll.
