They are the teachers who educate our children, the firefighters and police who protect our homes and families, the medical personnel who save our lives. They are our nation's public employees. And they are under attack. Right-wing governors in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Alabama, Pennsylvania and elsewhere have decided that the lingering recession and lower tax revenues have given them the political cover they need to try to bust public employee unions. Cheered on by majoritiesin both houses of the legislatures in those states and bankrolled by fanatical billionaire businessmen, they are moving to rob workers of their most fundamental workplace right: the ability to collectively bargain.
