Characteristics of the residues after phosphorus recovery from incinerated sewage sludge for the production of building materials

Seven corm ashes from combustion of sewage sludge were leached with solns. of H3PO4 and HNO3 (concn. 2.7 mol/L) to recover P and prep. raw materials for cement or concrete prodn. The residues contained mainly Si, Al and Fe but also Ca, Ti, K and P compds. and melted at 1300-1400 degrees C.
