摘要

The aims of the MAGMASOFT system to computer pouring simulation application at the SREM IRON FOUNDRY LTD are presented. On the example of a low-alloy cast iron casting the application of simulation to optimise the pouring technology is shown. The comparison of the forecast by MAGMASOFT distribution of shrinkage cavities with their real positions when using the initial pouring technology has shown good conformity.Several pouring simulations for various pouring technologies have been carried out in order to get the optimum technology. The placing of chills to eliminate shrinkage cavities as well as the size of risers have been optimised to increase the metal yield with maintaining their effectiveness. The implementation of the optimised technology contributed to decrease the amount of rejected castings.
