Applications of nuclear scintigraphy in the investigation of equine lameness Part 1: The Sport Horse

In a previous article series, the'basic principles and applications of nuclear scintigraphy as applied to the horse have been discussed. This two part series uses case-based examples to illustrate how nuclear scintigraphy has proven a valuable diagnostic modality in reaching a diagnosis in a variety of equine lameness cases. Part 1 considers conditions of the sport horse; Part 2 will discuss a number of cases involving the Thoroughbred racehorse.
