Economic PARTNERSHIP OF UKRAINE with the European Union countries in 2002

Integration to the European Union is one of the priorities of Ukrainian foreign policy. Judging from this, our country considers all states - members of the European Union to be the major economic partners. According to the information of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine, volume of trade between our state and the European Union increased by 18.3 percent in 2002 versus 2001 and constituted USD 7,567.6 mn or 21.7 percent of the total foreign trade turnover of Ukraine. Volumes of Ukrainian export to the countries of the European Union herewith augmented by 18.6 percent and made USD 3,530 mn. Import from these states grew by 18 percent up to USD 4,037.6 mn. Negative for Ukraine foreign trade balance reached USD 507.6 mn against USD 445.5 mn in 2001.
