THIS giant 1,800 tonne an hour crusher, part of a new 1.5 million pounds face set-up being given a fitness work-out on a Yorkshire workshops "treadmill", will help achieve consistent output levels and a productivity pay-back of over 2000 tonnes each day. Just as the performance of a human body can be measured during exercise on a treadmill, Kellingley created similar working conditions for the industry's first gearless crusher to check its stamina -- and to make sure it is in step with the other heavy duty equipment it will work with -- before going into production.
