EPA rule will call on utilities, industry to save fish when using water for cooling

While the coal industry faces potential new Environmental Protection Agency conductivity guidelines designed to save bugs, power plants and industrial facilities that pull water from lakes and rivers for cooling will now be forced to spend several million sheckles to save fish. The EPA has introduced a proposal that will impact over 1,200 different utility and industrial facilities in the U.S., but the tradeoff will be saving the souls of "billions" of "aquatic organisms" a year. EPA is saying that includes 615 million fish and shellfish. The rule is part of a court settlement with environmental groups.
