Walter Energy officials aren't ruling out the possibility of moving into new markets for the company's metallurgical coal, but existing business is lucrative enough to where such a move is not necessary in the current environment. During a recent second quarter earnings call, CEO George Richmond was asked at least twice by analysts if Walter was taking advantage of China's surge in coal imports or if any new domestic business had emerged for coking coal.
