The last issue of QW addressed quality in health; this month's issue looks at risk management. This makes the national debate about the NHS risk register rather timely. At the centre of the controversy was the decision by ministers not to publish the risk assessment for reforms which became law in March, under the Health and Social Care Act.Despite the fact that an information tribunal had ruled that the risk register should be published, the cabinet decided that releasing the document could harm the quality of future advice from civil servants.
