The government has launched a detailed review into why major infrastructure construction projects cost more in the UK than other European countries.Headed by Terry Hill, the former chairman of global engineering and project management services firm Amp, the review will examine the elements that affect the cost of civil engineering projects with the aim of reducing costs, Areas to be investigated include the cost of labour, materials, design procurement and regulatory impact such as health and safety and planning requirements.
