U.S. Corrugated says it won't pass through $40 container board hike

U.S. Corrugated, a large independent corrugated converter, informed customers that it will not raise box prices at this time and would not be passing through a contain-erboard price increase implemented this month. PPI Pulp & Paper Week last week reflected $40 of the announced $60/ton increase on linerboard and corrugating medium in the USA. This is the third linerboard price increase of 2010 in the USA. Since December, 42-lb unbleached kraft linerboard in the US East increased by $150/ ton, according to Pulp & Paper Week.
