Despite new capacity entering the market at the start of the seasonally slow period, the North American containerboard market has been relatively quiet in November, according to most contacts. Nevertheless, prices still remain under some pressure due to slow growth in box demand and more new supply, which has created a wide gap between kraft linerboard and recycled containerboard grades.
