US coated freesheet price increase mostly in place as contracts reset; coated mechanical edges lower

North America's coated freesheet (CFS) price increase slid into the market without apparent effort when contract pricing reset this month, while at the same time, coated mechanical (CM) moved further in the opposite direction, contacts said. Printers, producers, and merchants all said the June CFS increase was quickly implemented in July and for the most part $30-40/ton ($ 1.50-2.00/cwt) went through in the first three weeks of July "depending on grade and starting point."
