Domtar reported 102,000 tons of market-related uncoated freesheet (UFS) paper downtime in six months from April through September this year and also dropped its stock level at the same time. The company, the largest UFS producer in North America, reported an 18,000-ton decline in UFS stock in the third quarter, along with a 4,000-ton drop in first quarter. In the second quarter, its stock grew 9,000 tons. The firm took 51,000 tons of market-related UFS downtime in both the second quarter and third quarter, after taking no market-related downtime in the first quarter.
