The U.S.containerboard market "could remain in balance if the economy has a soft landing" next year,RISI v.p.of packaging Ken Waghorne said on Oct.6 at RISI's 21st North American Forest Products Conference in Boston.RISI expects U.S.economic growth to fall below trend in the fourth quarter this year and through first half next year,with first half real GDP at no higher than 2.5% (compared with growth of 5.6% and 2.9% in the first two quarters of this year).
