Canadian companies may not receive softwood lumber refunds from the U.S.this year -and more likely will receive deposits in first quarter next year,said Salman Partners analyst Paul Quinn in an Oct.13 report.Under the seven-year softwood lumber agreement implemented Oct.12,the U.S.refunds 4.3 billion to Canadian softwood lumber producers for duties dating back to 2002.Another 1 billion paid by Canadian softwood producers goes to U.S.companies impacted by Canadian softwood lumber shipments into America.
