PCA fears Domtar's power plant project would lead to biomass shortage

Officials from the Packaging Corp of America's (PCA) Tomahawk corrugating medium mill have filed objections with Wisconsin state officials to a 50-MW biomass power plant at Domtar's Rothschild mill near Wausau, 45 miles south of Tomahawk. Electrical utility We Energies filed an application to build the $255 million biomass power plant with state regulators on March 15, saying the project would supply steam to Domtar's mill and create up to 150 jobs.
