The plant has a combustion chamber (2) coupled to a circuit for heat carrier medium i.e. thermal oil, by a heat exchanger (4). The circuit is coupled to an organic rankine cycle (ORC) turbine circuit by another heat exchanger. The chamber is connected with an underground storage (20) for biomass (3) by a conveying unit (23) i.e. double-chain conveyor. A cooler of a rear cooling circuit is arranged at a side wall (21) and a roof area (22) of the storage such that an airflow (25) produced by axial blowers (18a-18d) arrives into an interior part of the storage. An independent claim is also included for a method for utilizing waste heat of a biomass power plant.
