Understanding the effectiveness of capability maturity model integration by examining the knowledge management of software development processes

CMMI was designed as a comprehensive system development model for helping organizations have visible ongoing processes and have some measurements to inspect the process of software development quality (Refs. 1 and 2). This paper has two objectives: first it examines the role of knowledge in CMMI. The second, it examines the effectiveness of CMMI from stand point of knowledge management, and to consider the extent to which such processes can be enhanced (30 refs.)
