Current status of total quality management implementation in the Turkish cement industry

摘要

A brief history of cement manufacturing companies and their importance in construction activities in Turkey is given. Since excellent production opportunities are there among stiff competition in the Turkish cement manufacturing industries at both local and global levels, it is observed that the implementation of the total quality management (TQM) concept is found as essential. The existing TQM practice has motivated the study of the current status of TQM implementation in the Turkish cement industry. A detailed survey is conducted among the member companies of the Turkish Cement Manufacturer's Association. The survey outcomes with regard to various headings from the TQM perspective are discussed at length.
