Following Their Own Science: Continuing the discussion on potatoes in schools

BOTH ON CAPITOL HILL and in the media there continues to be helpful discussion on the USDA proposed rule for school meal plans that limits potatoes in the school lunch program and eliminates them completely from school breakfasts. While USDA sifts through the more than 130,000 comments they received, the U.S. House of Representatives used the FY 2012 Agriculture Appropriations Bill to send USDA a message to re-issue the proposed rule in a format that will not increase the costs for schools.
