A 26-year-old male with distractibility, disorganization, and chronic unemployment

A 26-year-old, single, college-educated, white male sought treatment for self-described symptoms of attention-deficit/hyper-activity disorder. He had been minimally employed since completing college and was unemployed for the past 2 years. Due to this unemployment, he had accrued a large credit card debt and was unable to pay child support for his daughter. He reported receiving some mental health treatment during college in the context of feeling overwhelmed by his coursework and experiencing difficulty completing projects for his classes, but he denied any prior diagnosis of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder.
