摘要

Begonia semiparietalis Y. Liu, S. M. Ku & C.-I Peng, a recently discovered wild herb species with ornamental potential, was micropropagated. Laminae of in vitro plantlets with 5-7 mm(2) in size were incubated on a half strength Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with 0.0-8.0 mu M N-6-benzylaminopurine, zeatin, or meta-topolin. After 8 weeks of culturing the highest frequency of adventitious shoot bud formation (36%), the maximum number of shoots (3.1), and shoot length of 0.4 cm was achieved with the supplement of 4.0 mu M meta-topolin. The regenerated shoots were rooted (93.3%) on half-strength MS medium free of plant growth regulators.
