Judicious use of family resources: Need of the hour

Management is very important for all families whether they are rural or urban, rich or poor. It is concerned with the ways in which a family uses all its resources. The question of management arises, where resources are scarce and efforts need to be made to meet the demands, dire needs etc. The process of management presents a challenge to the manager in identifying all the resources at the disposal of the family and serve as a major means of achieving family goals, thus, maintaining a certain levelof living which includes education, dietary intake, housing facilities, recreational aspects and social life within limited means, Thus, household management becomes very important to provide guidelines for the effective and judicious use of resources as well as attain maximum satisfaction from their limited use. Family resources comprise mainly four components viz. time, money, energy and environment.
