Organic farming : an overview

Organic products can not be differentiated from the conventional products and it is the system of farming certified by a certification and inspection agency that makes the products organic. ORGANIC farming is the fastest growing sector in agriculture.The term organic farming may be new to the Indian farmers but in practice it is what our forefathers were doing for centuries. Even today, the farmers in several parts of India are doing organic farming but without any knowledge of the term organic. Inpresent context, human health conscious consumer and soil health conscious farmers are the major driving forces behind the promotion of organic farming. The demand for organic products is on the rise the there is a big gap between demand and supply. Organic products can not be differentiated from the conventional products and it is the system of farming certified by a certification and inspection agency that makes the products organic. Te certified organic products fetch a premium price in the local aswell as in the export market.
