Integrated pest management in summer vegetables

Summer vegetables are attacked by a large number of insects and mite pests. Their effective control is essential to realize good yield. VEGETABLES are an important and integral part of our daily diet. They are rich sources of many vital minerals, vitamins and fiber. Vegetables are grown throughout the year. Brinjal, chilli ,bell pepper, cucurbits, okra and tomato are grown during summer season. These summer vegetables are attacked by a large number of insects and mite pests in addition to many viraldiseases transmitted by insect vectors. Their major pests, symptoms of attack and control measures are given here.
