Obtain birds from a disease free source. Know the history of the flock by enquiring about the past disease in the parent flock and-also the vaccine history of both the parents and newly hatched birds. When adding new birds to the flock, properly quarantine them in a separate area from the main flock for at least two weeks, and avoid their contact with the dropping, feathers, dust and debris left over from previous flocks.
