Parasitic diseases are a global problem and serves as an obstacle in the health and production performance of animals. Parasites are responsible for a disease "Paramphistomosis" in cattle, buffalo, sheep and goat. The disease in local parlance is alsoknown as "Gillar Rog". INDIA has 30 native breeds of cattle, 25 of buffaloes, 20 of goats and 42 of sheep. The efforts have been made to increase the production of our local animals by crossbreeding, selection of best animals and other means. However, diseases of livestock are increasing day by day. Therefore, keeping in view, the importance of animals, the farmers should have awareness regarding various animal diseases, their mode of transmission, treatment and different strategies for control of diseases.
