Fusarium culmorum have traditionally been associated with temperate cereals, since these fungi require somewhat lower temperatures for growth and mycotoxin production as compared to the aflatoxigenic Aspergillus species. The aim of the experiment wasto determine, using chromatography analysis (HPLC - High Performance Liquid Chromatography), the concentration of secondary metabolite - zearalenone (ZEA) in grain of different cultivars of winter wheat inoculated with F. culmorum (isolate KF 350). Therewere statistically significant differences in the degrees of contamination zearalenone in analyzed grains of winter wheat. The highest mean content of ZEA was found in grain of Kris (734.45 ng/g) and Zyta (154.35 ng/g) cultivars.
