As a result of the microbiological analysis of aubergine seeds, 137 fungal isolates and 29 bacterial colonies were obtained. From the fungal isolates, 10 fungal species were identified. They included the pathogenic species Alternaria alternata and Botrytis cinerea and also typical saprobiotic ones, such as Aspergillus spp., Mucor spp. and Rhizopus spp. B. cinerea, Cladosporium cladosporioides, A. alternata and Monilia geophila constituted the highest proportion. In in vitro studies, the following fungi were the most pathogenic towards aubergine seedlings: B. cinerea; C. cladosporioides; and M. geophila (soil fungus). In laboratory conditions, B. cinerea, C. cladosporioides and M. geophila were the most effectively inhibited by Zaprawa Funaben T and Vitavax 200 SC (carboxin). Biosept 33 SL had the weakest effect on the tested fungi.
