Infuence of herbicides used in winter oilseed rape to Viola arvensis control.

Several weed species commonly occur in winter oilseed crops. For the last years infestation of Viola arvensis has been increasing, especially on light soils, where recommended herbicides are moderately effective. In 2005-2008 field experiments were carried out, on herbicide efficacy in the control of V. arvensis in winter oilseed rape. The following herbicides Command 480 EC (clomazone 480 g/l), Butisan Star 416 SC (metazachlor 333 g/l+chinomerac 83 g/l), Nimbus 283 SE (metazachlor 250 g/l+clomazone 33 g/l) and mixtures Command 480 EC+Lasso 480 EC (clomazone+alachlor). All herbicides were applied in autumn, before emergence of oilseed rape plants. Only herbicide Butisan Star 416 SC applied at a dose of 2.5 l/ha showed a very high efficacy (85% of weed control). Herbicide Nimbus 283 SE applied at a dose of 2.5 l/ha gave a good control of V. arvensis (80%). Efficacy other tested herbicides and mixture: Command 480 EC (0.25 l/ha) and Command 40 EC+Lasso 480 E (0.2+4.0 l/ha) was low.
