Issues of preventing and eliminating bacterial ring rot of potato caused by Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. sepedonicus.

Bacterial ring rot is currently the most dangerous quarantine disease in potato production in Poland. The article discusses the potato production technology currently in use in Polish farms in respect with the potential reduction or spreading of the disease. Research results indicate that high detection rates of bacterial ring rot in Poland are due to the absence of preventive measures. The low usage of qualified seed material, no regular disinfection of used machinery and equipment, as well as a dispersed production in Poland have all caused this quarantine disease to spread.
