The efficacy of Karate 025 EC (lambda-cyhalothrin), Bancol 50 WP [bensultap], Trebon 10 SC [etofenprox] and Sumi-alpha 050 EC [esfenvalerate] against cereal leaf beetle larvae in triticale was evaluated in Poland during 2002-04. Sumi-alpha 050 EC and Trebon 10 EC appeared to be the most effective against leaf beetle larvae. The chemical control of leaf beetle larvae increased the grain yield from 0.5 to 9.2 dt/ha (5.4 dt/ha on average). The defrayal index ranged from 0.6 to 10.0, while the index of profitability ranged from 0.8 to 1.4. The average percent cost coefficient was 1.0..
