northern lights: The Surveying Business in Canada

Beginning now, members of the Association of Canada Lands Surveyors (ACLS) will be receiving each issue of Professional Surveyor Magazine. To celebrate the alliance, we're working with them to publish this monthly column dedicated to Canadian surveying issues. Land surveying in Canada falls under 11 different jurisdictions--one for each of the 10 provinces and one for "Canada Lands," which are loosely defined as all Indian reserves and national parks wherever they are located in Canada, the three northern territories (Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut), and the offshore.
