Producing highly sophisticated sailing boat components for the Victory-Challenge Team-a crew of 17 with a supporting cast numbering many more- is no small task, but RydVerken makes sailboat component manufacturing look like a breeze. The engineering company generated keel, rudder and bulb parts for the Victory Challenge Team's Swedish ocean racers, which were entered in competition for America's Cup last year. RydVerken, founded in 1970, is ocated in southern Sweden. With 34 employees and a complete CAD/CAM department with three Tebis stations, the company produces a number of high-tech products, such as: parts for nuclear fusion power stations, space rockets and aero engines for Volvo Aero AB; shearing and pressing tools for Volvo, Alfa Laval and others; impellers and guide vanes; and a very advanced component for a nuclear fusion reactor.
