In the Izvoarele Formation from North Dobrogea olistoliths of Anisian limestones and intra-plate basalt do occur. The last are tholeiitic rocks which, according to their P_2O_5 content, show a light alkaline tendency. By their composition the basalt olistoliths are similar to the Anisian flood basalts from the Niculitel Formation, which they came from. During their tearing off from the basalt complex and the sedimentation processes the basalt olistoliths have been fissured and then affected by the diagenetic calcitization, influencing their chemical composition.
