INTERNATIONAL MILL ACTIVITY

Maruichi Steel Tube has started full-scale production of new galvanizing and colorcoating facilities in southern Vietnam. This facility will provide additional coil export business for several mills, including JFE Steel. Last week the Japanese partners in Maruichi Sun Steel (known as Sunsco) formally inaugurated a new 22,000 tons/month hot-dip galvanizing line and a new 8,800 tons/m continuous color-coating line at their joint venture works in southern Vietnam's Di An county. The new lines took Sunsco's total HDG capacity to 33,000 tons/m and color sheet to 13,200 tons/m.
