According to Baker Hughes, the U.S.rig count on April 15, 2016 was 440 with 351rigs searching for oil and 89 for natural gas.This represents a decline of 36 rigs from lastmonth’s Pipe & Tube Report – all on the oilside. While we completely agree that a rigtoday is not the same as a rig in the past, for allyou rig count watchers out there, this is thelowest level of drilling in at least 30 years. As aside note, coming into March there were 8 E&Pcompanies operating 10 rigs or more. By theend of March, the group had fallen by half.
