The European Commission has renewed anti-dumping orders on EU imports ofseamless pipe and tube from China. The review at the end of the first round of orders concludedthat a repeal would likely bring about a continuation of dumping. The findings were published inthe EU Official Journal on Wednesday December 9. The original duties were placed in effect in2009. Noteworthy comments from the EU report were the fact that during the period ofrestriction Chinese capacity increased by about 60% and that spare capacity is more thandouble total EU yearly consumption.
