摘要

In the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) trial, some 19,000 women aged 50 to 79 years who were specifically trained to reduce the percentage of total fat in their diet from 39% to hopefully 20% achieved an average of just 30%, while another 28,000 women who only received some documentation on diet and health did not reduce their relative fat intake (Howard et al, 2006a). After 7.5 years, the women in the low-fat diet arm had a slightly, but nonstatistically significant, reduced risk of invasive breast cancer and a slightly lower weight, but the low-fat diet did not reduce their 7-year risks of cardiovascular disease or colon cancer (Beresford et al., 2006; Howard et al., 2006a,b; Prentice et al., 2006).
