Plating Industry Shines at PoP's Outreach Seminar For the Automotive Community

AESF's young Plating on Plastics (PoP) Committee planned an outreach seminar on this specialized technology for the automotive design community that met with success. According to Committee Chairman Joe Arnold of Guardian Automotive, more than 65 guests showed up at the May 22 seminar at Michigan State University in Troy, representing automotive designers, engineers, stylists and purchasing agents. This response indicates that interest in adding chrome to automobiles is alive and growing. "Our turn-out was more than we had initially hoped to see, but obviously, we were very enthused to have so many interested parties stop by. The technical level of this seminar was aligned to the design/styling community. Our committee plans to evaluate our results and determine whether our next outreach should have more information for the experience platers who may attend," said Arnold.
