摘要

The phenomenon of drag reduction by polymeric additives has been known since 1949, when it was first reported by B. A. Toms1. Since then, much research has been done to better understand this phenomenon; however, no universally accepted model has ever been proposed to explain the drag reduction mechanism2. The role of polymer conformation and solvent interaction is known to be extremely important3, but the exact effect is still unknown.
