Microcolunin liquid chromulographic separations (with an internal column diameter of 1mm or less) are used for a variety of reasons. Some of these reasons include low solvent consumption, increased mass sensitivity when limited amounts of sample arc available, case of interfacing to mass spcclrometry, and high-efficiency separations.
