摘要

The subject of this presentation is a singularity in tlie melt flow of polyethylene (PE) observed within a narrow temperature interval of 1-3 °C around 150°C, which, as an outcome of the present studies, we attribute to the formation of a distinct low viscosity phase along the wall of the flow channel. In addition to its scientific interest this should have profound and . favourable influence on the extrudability of the melt and on the uniformity of the resulting extrudate.
