摘要

The slurry-bed hydrop0rocessing for residue is a newly developed technique for the processing of heavy oil~(1). A medium-scale plant of 50,000 t centre dot a~(-1) will be built next year in Fushun of China. In this technique, catalysts are dispersed to tiny-sized granules which suspend in the feedstock oil~(2-4) instead of packed in the bed layer of the reactor, thus the problem of deactivation of the catalyst caused by coke formation or poisoning can be ignored. On the other hand, since the catalysts are used for once only, its cost has become the major factor that decides its prospect in the industrial application.
