His oldest daughter, Paula, was executor of his will, so they often spoke of issues that might affect his estate. Paula encouraged her father to make a review of his estate plans with his financial planner and attorney. Paul, 85, had substantial real estate holdings. It was certainly possible that a major portion of his estate value would then exceed the current exemption.
