Hengan starts up new tissue PM at Anhui plant

Hengan International has kicked off production on a new 60,000 tonne/yr tissue PM at a mill in Wuhu city, Anhui province, in eastern China. The first sheet of paper rolled off the line on November 20, according to a contact close to the project. Dubbed PM 20, the machine was supplied by Valmet. It has a trim width of 5.6 m and an operating speed of 1,900 m/min. An identical unit was commissioned at the site in August (No. 32, p.1). The facility now houses four machines with a combined tissue paper capacity of 240,000 tonnes/yr. With PM 20, the company has achieved its goal of adding 120,000 tonnes/ yr of capacity in the second half of 2016.
