Chinese paper and board prices stable over January due to Lunar New Year holiday lead up

Paper and board (P&B) prices in China were stable in January, thanks to the run-up to the Lunar New Year. The holiday fell on January 31, and the whole country, including P&B mills, downstream printers and convertors, has since been on a week-long holiday. P&B sales were slow in January due to the expectations of holiday downtime through the chain, and prices were mostly unchanged. On the fine paper front, levels for all surveyed grades were flat.
